OHC Teams Up with NFL Extra Points Credit Card and Indianapolis Colts Placekicker Adam Vinatieri on Super Bowl Boulevard

OHC team member Torie Abramson and Indianapolis Colts placekicker Adam Vinatieri take a quick snapshot in between media interviews on Super Bowl Boulevard this week. Sara Lee Foodservice Participates in the United States Department of Agriculture Food Program

The OHC team recently assisted Sara Lee Foodservice in announcing its participation in the United States Department of Agriculture Food Program which helps supply schools with healthy, kid-friendly meals to be served during school hours to grades kindergraden-12. To support Sara Lee Foodservice’s commitment to K-12 OHC attended the WGN Kid’s Fair. Bright and early, the OHC team handed out double chocolate chip whole grain Sara Lee muffins to eager fair-goers. OHC’s participation in the fair garnered Sara Lee Foodservice a shout out on WGN morning news and left more than 700 happy fair-goers with stomachs full of tasty muffins.

Second Street Launches Voters Choice Platform

Second Street, a leading provider of private-label online promotions products for media companies and brands, launched its new Voter’s Choice software product. Voter’s Choice allows print, radio and television media companies to efficiently run metro and niche ballot promotions and open up new revenue streams with advertisers. These ballots allow readers to nominate and vote on their top picks for a variety of businesses and services in their community - everything from “best ice cream parlor” to “best insurance agent”. They can be even more local with a specific topic in a community, such as “state fair favorites”, or “local music awards”. Read more about Voter’s Choice.

USA Today Exclusive: Playtex Launches Be Uniquely You Campaign

OHC worked with Playtex Bras to launch its new integrated marketing campaign asking women to Be Uniquely You. Playtex’s new creative campaign reflects the positive and emotional connection Playtex has with real women. The campaign features relatable, healthy, confident women versus the provocative types featured by other bra brands. In the 30-second spot, four women are wearing the latest Playtex styles while each woman is situated in a unique environment with cues from the color, pattern or fabric of the style she’s wearing.  Read about the campaign in USA Today.

OHC also helped to create a crowd-sourced “Braclaration of Independence,” a bra wearers’ manifesto to highlight the pursuit of bra happiness. Starting May 31, 2013, Playtex encouraged women to let their voices be heard by contributing content on their website. More than 9,600 women have joined the conversation. On July 1, Playtex revealed the crowd-sourced “Braclaration of Independence” and invited women to ratify it. More than 14,000 women signed the Braclaration. Read the Braclaration of Independence.

Bali Intimates Hosts NYC Online Journalists for Dinner and Fall Innerwear Fashion

The OHC team worked with Bali Intimate Apparel to host an intimate dinner at PUBLIC restaurant in New York City.  Six influential online journalists attended the dinner to speak with the Bali team about marketing, design, innovation, and beautiful Bali products.  The evening started with a cocktail hour where attendees had the opportunity to view bras, panties, and shapewear and see what “Living Beautifully” is all about.  Dinner followed where Bali, OHC, KraftWorks NY and online journalists got to get to know each other better.  OHC coordinated and executed an evening garnering new relationships with our online network.  Suffice it to say, both the food and the company was exquisite!  See pictures of the event.

OHC Introduces Midwest Craft Brewer to the Big City and Publicizes Craft Beer Tax

OHC planned and executed a national media tour in New York City for Schlafly Beer, the second largest brewer in St. Louis. The tour promoted the craft beer industry and St. Louis as the ideal brewpub destination rich in history and heritage. Throughout the 3-day trip, Schlafly Beer Co-founder Dan Kopman met with prominent media including The Wall Street Journal to discuss celebrating 20 years of success, sample flavorful beers and promote St. Louis' craft beer movement. The OHC team is proud to accept two Silver Trumpets from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC). The first award-winning entry, “Taking Hanesbrands to New Heights” was received in the marketing category. The Expedition Hanesbrands campaign includes a trek to Mt. Everest to test innovative Champion and Duofold brand apparel. Part two of Sara Lee Deli’s successful “Mama Saga” social media campaign, featuring the talents of Second City Communications, was featured in advertising columnist Stuart Elliott’s “Campaign Spotlight” on The New York Times website. The new Saga Solver campaign, designed to connect with moms by using humor and providing solutions to her daily saga, is part of the brand’s long-term strategy to provide information to moms to help simplify her life.

OHC Helps Expedition Hanesbrands Reach New Heights

The OHC team continues its public relations support of Expedition Hanesbrands, an expedition to Mt. Everest planned for spring 2010 with Canadian mountaineer Jamie Clarke. The program first launched in September 2009 with a live online press conference in which Champion-branded gear developed for the climbing team was unveiled to the public.  Next up: In early 2010, OHC will lead the public relations effort to unveil the Champion “summit suit” – the thinnest extreme weather suit ever developed.

The Magic of Whole Grains and Sara Lee Soft & Smooth

In support of Sara Lee’s collaboration with Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” DVD release, OHC connected fans of the show to the brand by creating a series of online video messages with two of the show’s stars, David Henrie and Jake T. Austin.  Messages from Henrie and Austin helped Sara Lee reach consumers online to spread the word about giving back to local communities to ensure all families have access to good nutrition and whole grains.  The videos encourage fans to participate in a sweepstakes where consumers have a chance to join the stars as they donate 25,000 loaves of Soft & Smooth bread to a food bank near the winner’s hometown.  The videos will be posted throughout the campaign on YouTube, Facebook and fan blogs.

In the fall of 2009, Sara Lee Sweet Goods set out to help America’s city dwellers de-stress with a daily indulgence.  With a focus on snacking with Sara Lee Bites and Simple Sweets, OHC encouraged consumers to enjoy a sweet treat any time of day within moderation.  By leveraging the newsworthiness of the annual Forbes Magazine “America’s Most Stressful Cities,” list and with the help of stress expert, Loretta LaRoche and Sara Lee chef, Jill Houk, our complete program of tips and simple, stress -free recipes became a popular topic of conversation in the media and on social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

When Sara Lee wanted to gather insights on the nutrition challenges moms face as they get ready for the back-to-school season, they tapped into the influential mom blog community for information, advice and solutions for America’s moms.  OHC engaged 13 top mom bloggers to attend the first-ever Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Back-to-School Nutrition Summit at the Kitchens of Sara Lee. At the Summit, moms discussed family-friendly whole grain nutrition with nutritionists, chefs and each other. The insights were shared with through traditional and social media and expanded our relationships with some of the country’s most influential moms. Check out back-to-school nutrition tips and pictures from the Summit here.

OHC celebrated its first year of participation in the industry awards by receiving two Golden Trumpets from the Publicity Club of Chicago. The first one was received in the marketing category for the Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Great Whole Grain Giveaway. The second was awarded in video news releases and films for the crop art event held in conjunction with the Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Switcheroo: Take Your Whole Grain Sandwich to School Day.
